Ben Rehder is an American author and novelist who specializes in writing mystery, fiction, and crime novels. Born in Austin, Texas, he has always had a passion for writing. He is best known for his Blanco County series, featuring the character John Marlin. His career began in advertising, but his love for literature led him to become a novelist. His writing style was greatly influenced by the comic crime novels of Carl Hiaasen. His first novel, "Buck Fever," was published in 2002 and was an Edgar Award finalist. Over the years, he has written numerous books in the Blanco County series as well as the Roy Ballard Mysteries series. His work has been nominated for the Edgar, Lefty, and Barry Awards.
