On The Square was constructed in 1929 for Bindseil’s Red and White Grocery store. In 1947, additions were made and the store was expanded. Cranberry’s Antiques, right next door to On The Square, now occupies the addition. The basement was used as a hardware store.
The grocery store later became a Po’ Boy’s Grocery and then the Town Creek Mall, with variety of vendors. The facade includes large plate glass display windows and double glass doors. Inside Cranberry’s, the decorative vendor facades still line the west wall.
On The Square is a retail store that opened in 1999 and sells clothing, gifts, and lavender products.
